Tour Description
Liming Liming red rock is a scenic area a couple of hours from Lijiang, and one of our favourite places because it does't get too many visitors, and it provides some of the most surreal scenery in north-west Yunnan. The sandstone cliffs offer fine panoramas and vistas, with the main attraction Turtle mountain, which can be hiked up through pine forest – 2 hours or so – or accessed via a new cable car.
Going to Liming also allows more time to visit and look around Shigu, the first bend of the Yangtze river. Starting 9am from your hotel, drive time one way is 2.5 hours plus, with stops at Shigu the first bend of the river, and then to LIming, entry fee 100-150y depending on cable car/meal option. Liming gets some but not very many visitors because of its distance from Lijiang.
