Tour Description
Your tour begins with a 9am pickup from your central Beijing hotel by private vehicle and an around 45-minute drive to the Summer Palace. Accompanied by your private guide, set out to explore the imperial palace and gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was first built in 1750 and is upheld as a masterpiece of Chinese garden design.
Stroll around the landscaped gardens, pavilions, lakes, temples, and bridges, as your guide points out highlights such as the Hall of Benevolence and Longevity, the Hall of Happiness and Longevity, Kunming Lake, and the Qingyan Stone Boat.
Continue to the Old Summer Palace or Yuanminyuan Park, another idyllic garden complex, laid out in the 18th century. Admire the stunning natural scenery, dotted with lakes, bridges, and pavilions, as your guide fills you in the palace history. At the end of the visit, head to a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious lunch of typical Chinese cuisine.
Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel around 3pm.
