Yi ethnic harvesting potato - Photos by APPLE LI, China, Yunnan Province, Jianchuan

These pics were taking some time last year in July, with some of my guests who were excited to see the more real side of country side life around shaxi. We drove 2 hours on a dirt road then bumped into a group of Yi ladies who were helping one of the sick lady to harvest her potato. Everyone helped and cooked together and kids were just hanging out by the field while adults worked. I did try to dig some potato out myself and it was very label intensive and not easy , consider these people live about 3000m high. Looking back at these pics I felt glad to experienced their hardship as well as their up lifting spirit.
