Miki in Shanghai........The Best Tour Guide in Shanghai
Last updated: Mar 19, 2013 Posted: Mar 19, 2013 Hello I am a person who travels a lot for business, and also loves to travel for pleasure whenever I have the opportunity. Miki was recommended to me by another tour guide in Beijing. I was planning on spending 3 days in Shanghai, and wanted to have a tour guide. I contacted Miki by email, and her replies were always very quick, and very polite. Miki organized a very good 3 day tour of Shanghai for me through email exchange. She even purchased tickets for a show, for me to attend, even though we had only exchanged emails, and I had not paid her any money. She trusts here clients very much, and does truly treat them as a friend. My tour of Shanghai was excellent, and her knowledge is excellent. Miki is very flexible, and will cater to your travel desires. She will change here plans if you wish to do different things, and she does not take you to the traditional tourist stores and restaurants, as she is an independent tour guide. She can speak English very well, and is very full of energy. I truly enjoyed my tour with Miki, and she has remained a friend in Shanghai. I was recently trying to arrange a tour with Miki for a friend of mine, but she was not available due to family committments, but she arranged for another tour guide to provide the service. She truly wants to ensure that everyone enjoys their experience in Shanghai. I would highly recommend her for your upcoming tour of Shanghai.
My husband and I have travelled a lot because it's a great passion of ours. We've had more tour guides than we can remember but Miki stands out among the others because she really took the time to talk to us and get to know us and in the end we had not only gained knowledge about our day but made a wonderful friend. We were in Shanghai for only two days, it was the end of a long trip through parts of Thailand, Malaysia, and China. We were incredibly tired and our 14 hour flight home was the next day. Due to our short time, Miki helped arrange transportation from the airport for us, which was a real time saver. This gave us a chance to sleep in the car. My husband and I are young, in our late 20s, early 30s. We needed that power nap and appreciated the help in organizing that service. The driver also helped us find an ATM machine that worked with our credit cards that aren't accepted at all machines for security reasons. Miki met us right on time at our hotel and our tour began from there. Miki really brought the water town we visited, to life. Tongli was beautiful and Miki knew her way around, offered to help us take photos, and showed us the sites that she knew would be interesting for us. The best thing was that she started giving us information as soon as we left the hotel, this showed us that she wanted us to get our full money worth of the trip. Never once did we feel pressured to buy anything or spend anywhere. Lunch was very affordable. It was just the three of us, myself, my husband, and Miki and the private tour was very much appreciated. Sometimes big group tours can be annoying and we went on some bad ones in Thailand. I would highly recommend Miki to anyone who wants good solid knowledge of the area they are touring in Shanghai because she really knows her stuff! If you're touring a water village, a big plus is that Miki knows all the good places to take photos. This was really important for me because as an art teacher I love scrapbooking pictures and I'm currently doing that with all the amazing pictures we took. In the end, Miki also helped us get tickets for the Shanghai acrobats show. After our full day touring the water town, we were dropped off at the circus. Miki showed us how to take the metro back (we wanted to try it rather than a taxi). She secured our tickets for the circus for us and even led us right to our seats. One more thing I want to add is that even though we didn't have a tour booked with her for the next day (our flight was in the day) she gave us a suggested plan to follow for what not to miss in Shanghai, which was incredibly thoughtful of her. If we had more time, we would have booked another tour with her, but at least next time we're in Shanghai, we know who to contact. If you have any questions about our tour, please don't hesitate to call me or contact me through my blog liyapilly.com. I highly recommend Miki, and will be posting pictures of our tour as soon as I finish making our scrapbook! Wishing you all the best Miki, we're so happy we met you and gained a friend!
Re: Miki is the best Shanghai tour guide we ever had!
Last updated: Jan 18, 2013 Posted: Jan 18, 2013 We were so lucky and happy with Miki's service as Shanghai tour guide, so that I would like to share the good experience with other travelers to Shanghai and the surroundings. We are an European industrial group with over 15 subsidiaries located all over the continents. End October 2012 we held a Global Executive Meeting in Shanghai and we could enjoy a whole day city trip around Shanghai. I as the responsible organizer had sourced for the tour guide already 2 months prior to the proposed excursion date. As Miki always reacted quickly and professionally on our request and clarifications, beside her moderate service charge, we have decided to take her service. It was a lucky decision! The way Miki guided our corporate team of 16 high-ranking managers of our international subsidiaries was just marvelous so that everyone of us has brought back home the wonderful memories of Shanghai and China in general, first of all because the great performance of the well-tempered and well-educated Miki. In short Miki (1) has told us so many stories from China/Shanghai history which have touched all of us; (2) has helpfully assisted our colleagues not only at sight-seeing but also shopping; (3) never asked any additional charge from us, has paid all fees in advance for us, asked not a single cent for herself additionally. ; (4) was able to handle and lead our trip group with discipline and no hassle. I can assure that if we would arrange any tour again in Shanghai, or even somewhere else in China, we would like to engage Miki again as our tour guide. She deserved our best reference and recommendation for those who are looking for a tour guide for small or bigger group as we were. All the best and keep doing well, Miki!
