Transportation within Yangzhou 扬州市内交通

The layout of Yangzhou is fairly simple, and most attractions can be reached on foot or by rides in passenger carriages.  Yangzhou is boxed in by the old Grand Canal and Slender West Lake on the northwest side of town.  The center of town is marked by the large white Wen Chang pavilion, making a good reference point for the rest of the city. Wen Chang road, which runs on an east-west axis, is considered the main drag in town as well.

Both the train and bus stations are a bit outside the main urban area.

If arriving in Yangzhou by bus, you will more than likely be dropped off at the West Bus Station. A cab ride from the station into the center of town will cost around 15 Yuan. Alternatively, the number 20 bus runs through the central district and has a useful stop in the Yechun area.

The train station is even further from the city center than the bus station. Cabs from here will cost about 20 Yuan, or take bus number 26  which runs along Wen Chang road, Yangzhou’s main thoroughfare, from which most other destinations are easily reached.
