<p>Jay was our guide in Chengdu in late September/early October 2014. &nbsp;We found Jay to be an excellent guide. &nbsp;He arranged our trip to the Panda Sanctuary and the Panda Experience (holding a baby Panda) brilliantly. &nbsp;He got us there early&nbsp;to beat the holiday crowds which proved to be an excellent decision. &nbsp;His knowledge of the Pandas and the operation of the Panda Sanctuary is impressive. &nbsp;equally his timing to get us around the whole park and then back to the office to do the Panda experience was pin point accurate.</p> <p>Our trip to Leshan with Jay was also well organized; so much so that we managed to do both the Pandas and Leshan&nbsp;in the same day without being rushed. &nbsp;At one point our boys asked if they could go to the water park they had heard about. &nbsp;No problem for Jay - he knew exactly where to go and even got us a good discount on the entry tickets. &nbsp;Chengdu Paradise Island is amazing. &nbsp;It is in the middle of&nbsp;Chengdu's all-new, enormous 1.7 million square metre New Century Global Centre. &nbsp;If you have some spare time in Chengdu, you should go - it is incredible.</p> <p>All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Chengdu and Leshan thanks to Jay. &nbsp;He is a a brilliant guide and a very friendly and engaging person. &nbsp;We plan to return to China in the furture to trek the Tiger Leaping Gorge and see more of the mountains near Chengdu. &nbsp;When we do, Jay will be the person we call to be our guide.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Dave, Penny, Andrew, Chris<br /> New Zealand</p> Read less

<p>We visited Chengdu, China in September 2012 and hired Jay to be our tour guide.&nbsp; We were only able to visit Chengdu for 1 day, traveling up by train from Chongqing.&nbsp; Jay was very proud to show us his home city and he provided us with many wonderful experiences to help us appreciate the culture and history of the area.&nbsp; Jay and his driver met us on time at the train station.&nbsp; Jay went the extra mile to provide us with experiences we could not have done without him.&nbsp; We saw many Giant and Red Panda Bears at the Panda Breeding and Research Center and visited an old Buddhist monastery.&nbsp; Jay took us to a local restaurant to experience tradition Sichuan cooking.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; We visited the statue of Mao Zedong in Tianfu Square.&nbsp; Jay helped us appreciate how the local people live as we wandered through the People&#39;s Park and experienced dancing, playing games, caligraphy, and Tai Chi exercise.&nbsp; Jay made our day in Chengdu special.&nbsp; We spent a wonderful day with our friend, Jay, and I highly recommend him as a tour guide.</p> Read less

<p>My family and I had the best time with Jay on our 4 day Chengdu tour. &nbsp;Despite his youth, he is responsible, organized, and very responsive. &nbsp;His English is excellent and he is obviously a smart guy. &nbsp; He is an enthusiastic guide who prides himself on bypassing the trinket shops so he can provide clients with an authentic experience and a thorough tour of sights. &nbsp;For example, Jay took us to see the wildly popular Giant Buddha of LeShan. &nbsp;He organized a comfortable van with seatbelts for all of us for the rather long drive from Chengdu. &nbsp;Most bus tours see just the main statue and the &quot;tourist&quot; temple. &nbsp;We saw that too, but Jay took us further down a path to see ancient cave tombs, an enchanting monastery, and an amazing 800 year old bridge virtually all by ourselves. &nbsp;These sights were as thrilling to see as the Giant Buddha and sadly, most people miss out. &nbsp;But not us... we had Jay! &nbsp;Also, his advice to skip the hoards of weekend Chinese tourists and plan the excursion on the weekday was spot on. &nbsp;</p> <p>When we went to see the panda bears, Jay had bought our tickets online the night before allowing us to breeze right through the ticket lines. &nbsp;He arranged for my 11 year old daughter to sit with a baby panda on her lap. &nbsp;It was a great experience for her. &nbsp;The best food we had in China was at the local restaurants that Jay suggested. &nbsp;We never got sick and the food was totally amazing. &nbsp;We love that spicy Sichuan cooking! &nbsp;</p> <p>Jay took us to the completely magical Qingcheng Mountain. &nbsp;We hiked up ancient paths, crossed a lake on a boat and took a lovely ride up the mountain in a gondola to to reach the stunning pagoda&nbsp;perched at the top. &nbsp; The views were hampered by the fog but it was still a great experience. &nbsp; He delivered us back to the Shangrila Hotel each night completely happy!</p> <p>Jay is a young and energetic guide who loves his home and it shows. &nbsp;We feel very fortunate that we chose him as our guide. &nbsp;</p> <p>Tracy</p> Read less

<p>We were traveling to Chengdu only for a few days and we hired Jay for a one day tour.&nbsp; We really wanted to spend some time at the panda breeding center and be able to take a picture with a panda. .&nbsp; Jay made sure it happened.&nbsp; He organized everything.</p> <p>Also, other guides we hired through China always pushed that we buy some stuff.&nbsp; Jay actually helped us to get the best price when WE wanted to buy something.&nbsp;</p> <p>He is a great guy, he knows his stuff and is fun to spend time with!</p> <p>We don&#39;t hesitate to recommend him!</p> <p>Jeff and Gen</p> Read less
