Visit Xintiandi to see Shikumen house (Shikumen (Chinese: t 石庫門, s 石库门, p shíkùmén, Shanghainese "zakumen", lit. "Stone Warehouse Gate") is a traditionalShanghainese architectural style combining Western and Chinese elements that first appeared in the 1860s.[1] At the height of their popularity, there were 9000 shikumen-style buildings in Shanghai, comprising 60% of the total housing stock of the city,[2] but today the proportion is much lower as most Shanghainese live in large apartment buildings. Shikumen is classified as one type of lilong residences, sometimes translated as "lane houses" in English.
Walk to Fuxing park to see Chinese seniors exercise in the morning
Walk to Sinan mansion to see the most luxuary houses which were built in 1920s and 1930s.
Visit Tianzifang - Art creativity center in local residential area.
Finish the tour around 1pm.
