Itinerary Description:

The wonder of Uganda, the “Pearl of Africa”, awaits the discerning traveler in this fantastic itinerary, featuring amazing parks and wonderful accommodations.

First, head towards Kibale National Park and your accommodations at Rweteera safari park, a family-run inn set on a working tea plantation. This region offers a wealth of flora and fauna, including forest elephants, bush pigs, duikers, 325 species of birds, 250 species of trees, and 13 species of primates, and it is most famous for having a large population of chimpanzees. There is a habituated community nearby that offers a more than 90% chance of viewing the great apes.

Move on to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Mweya Safari Lodge, located on a peninsula jutting out into Lake Edward, providing spectacular views from every room. This is an excellent game viewing location, and the area offers some of the best bird watching in all of East Africa. While you are here, visit the salt works in Lake Katwe town, where you can view the traditional salt mining methods that have been in use here since the fourteenth century, and take a walk in Kyambura Gorge to track habituated chimps.

Continue your journey in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will spend several nights at the incredible Gorilla Forest Camp. Discover the mountain gorillas that call this forest home, as well as almost 350 species of birds, 200 species of butterflies, and over 300 species of trees. Trek the forest with your expert guide to visit the habituated gorilla groups, one of the most memorable experiences you can have on safari.

Your final stop on this exciting itinerary is Mihingo Lodge just outside of Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks. The amazing diversity of the surrounding environment provides a home for a surprising assortment of plants and animals, ending the journey with a sense of fulfillment and discovery.

Note: Children under age 15 are not allowed on gorilla treks.
