Consists:

Anuradapura, Polonnaruwa  Sigiriya & Dambulla

Anuradapura was Sri Lankas first capital founded in the 5th century B.C. It’s known as a sacred city for Buddhism.

Polonnaruwa is the islands medieval capital from the 11th – 13th century A.D. a site not to be missed is the largest man made reservoir the huge Parakrama Samudra.

Sigiriya is the Lion Rock which was built by the legendary King Kashyapa during his reign 477-495 A.C.

Dambulla is a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that King Walagambahu took refuge in the 1st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a Rock Temple.

Some of the Frescoes are over 2000 years old. A colossal figure of the recumbent of Buddha carved out of the living rock is some 14m long.

This package is mainly focused for cultural enthusiasts who intend to explore the history of Sri Lanka on a single Day. Though the tour program is on a tight schedule it is feasible if the tour is started early in the morning.
