Many visitors worry about the situtation of the Panda which stayed at Wolong Panda Nature Reserve after 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake. Acturally, all of the Wolong captured Pandas got their new home--Yaan Bifengxia Panda Protection and Research Center. In order to give the panda fans an opportunity to have a close touch with the pandas, Bifengxia Panda Center launches a Panda Volunteers Project. Visitors can stay in the center as long as you want, to be come a Panda volunteer. You can take care of the pandas such as cleaning the panda villa, feeding them, checking their body temperature etc. By this way, you will have a deep understanding of the Panda's life.
Detailed Itinerary:
This is an itinerary for the visitor's reference, you can stay at Bifengxia panda centre as long as you like.
Day 1: Chengdu-Ya'an-Bifengxia Panda Base-Chengdu
The tour guide will meet you at 06:00am, then drive to the Bifengxia through Chengya Experess way. It takes about 2.5 hours to arrive there, then, apply for the necessary permit and sign the agreement to be a panda volunteer. Get your unifrom, Gloves etc.
Panda volunteer activity as follows:
09:30 Clean the panda's dormitory,.
10:00 Put the fresh bamboo into the enclosures for the pandas' breakfast.
10:15 Watch the pandas' activity and record it.
10:30 Feed the animals with bamboo bread, apples and carrots.
13:30 Feed pandas again.
14:00 End the job.
Return your uniforms,gloves, then get the volunteer certificate issued by China Panda Protection and Research Center. Drive back to Chengdu, end your impressive panda volunteer tour.
