LANZONES FESTIVAL IN CAMIGUIN ISLAND IN THE PHILIPPINES

Lanzones, a local fruit in the Philippines is being celebrated every year (Oct. 22-28) in this small island in the Philippines called LANZONES FESTIVAL. This is to give thanks for a bountiful harvest of the fruits that is common in the area. Five groups represents each town in the province and they compete thru an interpretative dance with colorful dresses and to the tune of a local music with the use of different instruments mostly found in the southern part of the Philippines. Performing group/artists may increase in number if some schools joined the competition . They are to gather in one area or a stadium and each one perform in front of the judges that came from different part of the country and the best performer proclaimed to be the winner .Almost 2 days of merry making in the stadium with the presence of other events like a band concert, a beach volley, a rodeo, a parade, a flea market etc.......
