Tour Description

Day 01 Arrival at Beijing

English speaking tour guide and driver will meet you at airport or railway station and transfer you to hotel, the rest of the day is free at your own leisure.

Day 02 Beijing ( B L )---Tiananmen square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven

Pick up from hotel, drive to Tian'anmen Square(40minutes), a 44-hectares square, Discover with your tour guide the 72-hectares Forbidden City. It will take 2-3 hours to visit the square and the Forbidden City(2hours).

Tiananmen square:

Tiananmen Square -The biggest downtown Square of the world,where you can visit Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People, Mao Zedong Memorial Hall and see the national flag raising ceremony. Thousands of people come to the Square every day. It is the must place to visit in Beijing City.

Forbidden city:

The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government.

Lunch at a special characteristic restaurant(1.5 hours).

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven(1.5hours). After the tour, drive back to the hotel.

Temple of heaven:

The Temple of Heaven in the southern part of Beijing is China's largest existing complex of ancient sacrificial buildings. The Temple of Heaven is situated in the southern part of Beijing, about 6 Km away from the center of the city. Traditionally, this temple was for imperial use only. It was built in 1420, covering an area of 273 hectares, it is the one of the largest parks in Beijing.

Day 03 Beijing ( B L )--- Mutianyu Great Wall, Hongluo Temple, view the exterior of Bird's Nest Stadium and Water Cube

Picked up from your hotel, first stop would be the Great Wall at Mutianyu(2hours), 80km away from the city. After hiking at the Great Wall, have a rest and lunch will be Chinese food.

Mutianyu Great Wall:

Mutianyu Great Wall, is one of the most famous and best preserved sections of the Great Wall together with Badaling and Jinshanling sections. Located in the northeast of Beijing Municipality, Mutianyu is connected with the smaller hotspot sections of Jiankou in the west and Lianhuachi in the east. This section used to serve as the northern wall defending the capital city and the Imperial power, like a giant galloping dragon on mountain peak preserving the entrance to emperors' kingdom.

Lunch at a special characteristic restaurant(1.5 hours).

Visit the Hongluo Temple(1hour) in the afternoon, on the way go back to the hotel, you will view the exterior of Bird's Nest Stadium and Water Cube Aquatic Centre(1hour), two famous buildings during Olympic games in 2008.

Hongluo Temple:

Hongluo Temple Tourist Resort lies at the foot of the Hongluo Mountain. The main structure is the 1,000-year-old Hongluo Temple. The resort is set in the natural scene of the area. Hongluo Temple was first built in Eastern Jin Dynasty and expanded during the prime time of the Tang Dynasty. It was originally known as the Darning Temple.

Olympic Green:

The Olympic Green, Beijing's newest urban parkland, is great for walking and sightseeing-t's full of Olympic-themed sculptures, art and fun rest spots. To get to the Bird's Nest, walk north on Beichen Lu, and soon you'll see it on your right with the Water Cube on your left.The Bird's Nest-officially known as Beijing National Stadium-is easily the most iconic of Beijing's Olympic structures.

Day 04 Beijing ( B )--- Ditan park, Summer Palace

After breakfast, visit Ditan park(1hour). Visit the Summer Palace(2hours), it used to be the imperial garden, now it is a public park.Transfer to airport for departure flight.

Ditan park:

The Ditan Park was constructed in 1530 by Emperor Jia Jing during the Ming Dynasty.
The park covers a 40 hectares space outside of Beijing's second ring road. This places the park in the middle of a heavily populated area. The park features lush gardens and tree lined paths.During the Cultural Revolution of China, the temple was damaged; however, the site has been restored and renovated since then.

Summer Palace:

Summer Palace is the largest imperial garden of Ming and Qing dynasty. The whole Summer Palace covers an area of over 290 hectares including more than 3,000 buildings, such as halls, pavilions, towers, etc.

Day 05 Beijing ( B ) --- Hutong

After breakfast, start your morning tour with the visit to the Hutong(1.5hours), from hutongs, one can discover how Beijingers, in the course of centuries, advanced from vulgarity to refinement.

Hutong:

In numerous hutongs are scattered residences of famous personnel, and these places are repositories. Laoshe, a well-known playwright is just one of them. Laoshe was born in a small lane, in the west part of the city. The memory of his childhood was so dear and impressive that after he'd been away from Beijing for more than 20 years, he still clearly remembered his birthplace, and he made it the backdrop of his novel"the Four Generations Under One Roof". Many famous operas and dramas are based on the themes of the "hutong life". When urban construction threatens the existence of these hutongs, some Beijingers become worried.
