Maropeng and Sterkfontein Caves are a world heritage site in South Africa. Maropeng is a site that has an exhibition hall and offers a boat ride depicting the 4 elements of earth,wind , fire and ice. In this centre you will be able to see how evolution of the human race and the earth has taken place. Maropeng takes you on a journey a million years back in time. Maropeng captures the significance of Africa as the ancestral home of humankind, regardless of religion, beliefs, colour or race. Sterkfontein Caves is one of South Africa's famous heritage sites, situated in the Cradle of Humankind in the western part of Gauteng. This unspoilt rural area is abundant with caves. The famous skull known as Mrs Ples was discovered by Robert Broom in 1947.
