If seafood is your thing, Leyuan Road will be your heaven. This street is lined with seafood restaurants, and is busy every night of the week. The food is fresh (you can see it alive and kicking before it’s on your plate), and the prices are reasonable. The restaurants here display their menu items in tanks and cages on the side of the street, and walking the length of the street provides excellent insight into what the Cantonese consider to be edible. Aside from the astounding array of freaky critters from the deep, there are also insects, rabbits, pheasants and snakes, all waiting for the chop. Most of the restaurants here are of a similar standard, but the Golden Luohu Hotel and the Hua Cheng Yi Hong are the largest and busiest.

Leyuan Road runs north off Shennan East Road. It is within walking distance of Dong Men. Bus nos. 2, 29 and 205 will take you there. The closest Metro stops are Guo Mao and Lao Jie.

The Old Northern Restaurant (Lao Beifang Canguan) is where people from China’s northern provinces go to get a taste of home in Luohu district. Highly recommended are the jiucai hezi (thick pancakes filled with chives), yi gou chu (a large pan of green beans, pork ribs, potatoes and corn bread), liang cai (Chinese-style spicy salad) and goubao rou (sweet stir-fried pork in batter). A hearty meal for two here can be got for less than RMB100. The only downside is that the chefs can sometimes take the Northerners' love of salt to an extreme.

The cuisine of the three provinces that comprise the Northeast of China, known as Dongbei, like the people of this region, is unique and to be found all over the country. Ah You serves up some of the most authentic Dongbei dishes in Shenzhen and they do it in true Dongbei style i.e. it is inexpensive and unpretentious. Stewed chunky green beans, pork ribs and corn, stir-fried glass noodles and celery, and spicy salads are among the Dongbaei favourites available here. Cornbread, jiaozi (Chinese dumplings) and a variety of mantou (steamed bread) are integral to any Dongbei dining experience. A meal for two will cost less than RMB100. The menu is in Chinese with pictures.

If you like this you might also want to check out the Old Northern Restauarnt.

Ah You Dongbei Cuisine is on the last street that runs off Dongmen South Road when heading south. This road connects Dongmen South Road with Yanhe Road (and seems to be unworthy of a name). Tell the taxi driver to take you to the Donfang Jiayou Zhan (Dongfang Petrol Station) on Yanhe Road. Ah You is opposite this and behind the Lao Difang Jiudian. Bus nos. 2, 5, 14 and 17 stop on Dongmen South Road.

Xinjiang Restaurant

   ...

The imaginatively named Xinjiang Restaurant is the best eatery on a strip of restaurants that serve the Uighur minority cuisine. The Uighurs, one of China's 56 recognized minorities, hail from the northwestern region of China formerly known as Turkestan. It is also the official restaurant of the Xinjiang Uighur Minority Special Autonomous Region Government’s representative office in Shenzhen, so it must be good.

Uighur cuisine is similar to that found in Central Asian countries and relies heavily on roast mutton, noodles, naan bread and chili. Food is prepared and cooked according to Islamic custom. The Xinjiang Restaurant is as good an example of it as you will find this far from Urumqi. The food they serve is authentic, typical and tastes even better washed down with Xinjiang black beer. A meal for two will cost about RMB70 - 120. The menu is in Chinese but also has pictures.

The Xinjiang Restaurant is at the end of a strip of restaurants on Chunfeng Road, just east of the intersection with Wenjin Road. Bus nos. 5 and 14 stop near here and a taxi from the Luo Hu border crossing will cost about RMB15.

1.OCT-LOFT
By far the best place for strolling or simply hanging out in the city is the breezy OCT-LOFT complex, a warren of repurposed communist-era factories criss-crossed by cobbled laneways. It's also a great place to browse a multitude of contemporary art spaces in between pit stops at the area's excellent cafes, design shops, music venues, bars, restaurants and Shēnzhèn's best bookstore.
OCT-LOFT (OCT stands for Overseas Chinese Town) started out, appropriately for Shēnzhèn, as a TV manufacturing base before it was converted into a creative industries hub. Staying here is recommended, if you can snag a room at the hip Shēnzhèn Loft Youth Hostel, formerly a factory workers' dormitory complex. Note that OCT-LOFT isn't actually served by OCT metro station.

2.Windows of the world
The Window of the World is a theme park located in the western part of the city of Shenzhen in the People's Republic of China. It has about 130 reproductions of some of the most famous tourist attractions in the world squeezed into 48 hectares (118 acres). The 108 metre (354 ft) tall Eiffel Tower dominates the skyline and the sight of the Pyramids and the Taj Mahal all in proximity to each other are all part of the appeal of this theme park. You can see famous scenic spots (replicas) all over the world here such as Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre Pyramid,Acropolis,Leaning Tower,Shirasagi Castle,Sphinx of Giza...

The park occupies a 13-kilometre long stretch of reclaimed land along the southern coast of Shenzhen on the north shore of Shenzhen Bay (Deep Bay), starting west near Shenzhen Bay Bridge at Wanghai roadand ending at the Hongshulin Nature Reserve. It spans much of the coastline of Nanshan and Futian districts. It runs along much of the length of Binhai and Binhe Boulevards and occupies an area of 108.07 hectares (267.0518 acres).
The park is divided into two sections, namely Shenzhen Bay Coastal Recreation Zone(深圳湾滨海休闲带) at its South West side and Hongshulin Coastal Ecological Park(红树林海滨生态公园) at its Eastern side. The latter is situated within the Hongshulin Nature Reserve, a habitat of numerous endangered bird species and is also known for its mangrove.
The entire area of the park opened on August 6, 2011, days before the 2011 Summer Universiade that took place in Shenzhen. The Hongshulin Coastal Ecological Park was opened earlier in December 2000. The entire length of the park is motor vehicle-free.
