The baoab alley in Morondava attracts thousands of tourists every year. In Morondava, you can find 3 different species of baobab trees and the biggest one is the Andasonia grandidier.

The baobab has many nick names as the roots in the sky, the upside down tree and the elephant foot tree. The local name for the baobab is RENALA, it means the Mother of the forest.

A baobab tree can live for many hundreds years and can resist the fire due thanks to its water storage.
