Art House Project is a collection of houses, workshops, a temple, and a shrine that have been converted into art installations where one can see work of artists from all over the world. The Project is located in Honmura, a small town on Naoshima Island. There is the Honmura Lounge which serves as an information center for the Art House Project. The art houses are Kadoya where Miyajima Tatsuo displayed his art. Minamidera is designed by James Turrell. Haisha was a home and a desntist office and today there are located works of Otake Shiniro. Kinza is a small, 200 years old house, and visitors have to make reservations in order to enter. No more than one person at a time is allowed to enter Kinza, and for no longer than 15 minutes. Gokaisho is a traditionally designed building where one can see works by Suda Yoshihiro. Go´o Shrine is an old Shinto shrine designed by Sugimoto Hiroshi. Ishibashi was originally a house of a rich salt merchant, and now it houses works of Senju Hiroshi.
