Balut is a typical street food we have in the country. It is hard-boiled duck egg (not chicken). For me I call it "the magical egg", because of the magic it has on the the embryo. It is always a dare thing to do for a 1st timer visitor in the country because of its look plus the fact that there is duckling or a duck fetus which u have to eat as well. You also have to zip the liquid inside the egg followed the embryo then the last to be eaten is the egg yolk. It is already a traditional thing to eat Balut at late afternoon which is combined with San Miguel Beer. For locals, they associated Balut as a good source of protein. And sometimes an aphrodisiac as well.
