About this place

The famous valley is located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite the city of Luxor. The valley itself consists of East and West part, while the majority of royal tombs are located in the East Valley. Pharaohs from the 18th to 20th dynasties found their eternal home here. Tombs have chambers inside of which there are decorations and scenes which originate in the Egyptian mythology.

Even though these tombs date to approximately  16th to 11th century BC after which they were opened, damaged and robbed there are still important and valuable things and mummies which give an insight and explain some parts of rich Egyptian history.

Numerous historians and scientists have gathered here to study on Egyptian fascinating history and while many theories constantly arise the Valley of the Kings continues to be a top tourist destination.
