About this place

Kisatchie National forest is actually the only national forest in Louisiana which spreads on an area of 604,000 acres where mostly cypress and pine grow. This is absolutely beautiful forest with a lot of possibilities for recreation but not only. Besides many trails within the forest where people can walk, go jogging there are many scenic areas as well as streams. There are even trails for vehicles which are closed in certain periods.

There are also opportunities for fishing and hunting. Of course, there are regulations on this which must be respected. People often decide to take a swim or even take a boat ride.  Whatever you decide to do in the forest you´ll have a nice and relaxing time.

The forest is divided into five ranger districts: Caney Ranger District, Calcasieu Ranger District, Catahoula Ranger District, Kisatchie Ranger District, and Winn Ranger District.
