The Temple of Tooth at kandy is the final location of the sacred tooth of the lord Buddha which was brought to srilanka during the reign of king “keerthi sri Megawarna” by prince “Dantha” and Princess “Hemamala” from the kindom of kalingu India. It became the palladium of srilankan kings and was preciously guarded in a special shrine built within precincts of royal palace where the capital was located. The Temple of the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, sri dalada Maligawa is in the centre of the city, the highest venerated religious place with steeped in cultural heritage attracting the highest respect of the Buddhists as well as the other religions all over the world. The beautiful magnificent temple was built by late king Vimaladharmasooriya 1st in 1592 AD. The Relic Shrine is approached by a large draw-bridge over the moat and through a beautifully decorated frontispiece. A tunnel” ambarawa”, leads to the main shrine complex, having a central courtyard surrounded by storied structures.
The two-storied open pillared hall in front constitutes the area where visitors and devotees gather. The lower hall has its central part set apart for the beating of drums and other forms of traditional music performed during ritual service hours. On either side are the Pallemale Vihara constructed by king Kirti Sri Rajasimha and the Octagon (Pattirippuva) built by the last king, Sri Vikrama Rajasimha on one side and the small “stupa” supposed to contain the Bowl Relic of the Buddha on the other. The storied structures to the right and left of the shrine, constitute the residence quarters of the monks engaged during daily service (Tevava), the conference hall, the Library and the Office of the Diyawadana Nilame.The recognition of the sacred temple it has been declared kandy as a world heritage city by UNESCO. Ven.Monks of the two chapters of Malwattu and Asgiriya conduct daily worships in the inner chamber of the temple. Rituals are performing 3 times daily at dawn, at noon and in the evening. On Wednesdays, there is a symbolic bathing of the sacred relic with an herbal preparation from scented water and fragrant flowers called “Nanumura Mangalya”.
This holy water is believed to contain healing powers and it is distributed among those present.

Royal Botanical Garden, Peradeniya is situated about 5.5 km to the west from the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is renowned for its collection of a variety of orchids. It includes more than 4000 species of plants, including of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres (0.59 km2), at 460 meters above sea level, and with a 200-day annual rainfall. It is managed by the Division of National Botanic Gardens of the Department of Agriculture.

This temple is situated at Amunugama, a village near Kandy Town.The easiest way It can be reached from Kandy is via the roadway over Lewella Bridge or by proceeding along Kundasale road and turning left at Nattarampota.
The temple had been built at a place where two rocks were touching each other from above and below.The rock mass has a height of about 40 feet. A Cave had been made by breaking the rocks large enough to accomodate the Shrine Room of the Buddha and an area leading to the Shrine Room.
The paintings at the temple were the work of four painters. These paintings are recognized as some of the best examples of the Kandyan era paintings. Four " Jathaka Stories " are drawn at this cave temple of which one is the famous Vessantara Jathaka story.
In the Shrine Room ceiling, which is a rock surface, is also painted the scene of the Lord Buddha and the Mara and his forces. There is also a painting of Mahi Kantawa or the Earth Godess on the ceiling.
There is a Bo tree and a Stupa at a terrace above the summit of Rock Temple and a path with carved steps on the rock from the lower terrace and then an ascend of a pathway leading to Bo Tree and Stupa area.

This temple is situated in the heart of the city next to the attractive Kandy Lake and below the green sanctuary called and known as "Udawatte Jungle" which is a shelter lot of endemic flora and fauna.
The temple was Built during the era of King Wimaladharmasuriya and it was developed during the past up to today’s stage. Within the Temple premises there are lot of important wall paintings of the Kandyan era.
The Tooth Relic of the Lord Buddha is in the middle palace of the temple and could be only seen the golden casket during the period of day today so called "Thevava". During special Dalanda Exhibitions you could witness the small casket which is like a tooth.
Every year there is a pageant called "Perahera" which is a symbol of the Kandyan and Sri Lankan cultures. It is very much famous among foreigners and they mostly visit to Kandy to witness the same.

This 10 day Festival, Celebrated in Honor of the Tooth Relic Attracts thousands of Pilgrims and Tourist to Kandy Sri Lanka. The Perahara Took shape in the 18th Century during the reign of king kirti Sri Rajasinghe in Kandy Sri lanka,When Buddhist monks visiting from Thailand expressed their disapproval at the Hindu nature of the Festival, with Parades in reverence of Natha,Pattini,Vishnu ,and Kataragama from the Four devales in the city. The Sri Lankan King, Therefore, ordered that the Tooth Relic be Carried at the head of the Four Processions, hence incorporating the Temple of the Tooth parade into that of the Devales. Esala Perahara begins with the Kap tree Planting Ceremony. Followed by the Kumbal Perahara that marks the First five days of the festival. The Last Five Days Known as Randoli Perahara, are festivities become more as well as splendidly decorated elephants. The water -cutting ceremony, the concluding ritual of the festival, takes place before dawn on the Last day of the Perahara.

Later drive to Kandy the last capital of the Sri Lankan Kings and today it is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kandy holds the cultural beauty and the traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Visit to the picturesque Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala King, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Day 03: Kandy - Plantation - Nuwara Eliya (77kms/3 Hrs)
Enjoy heartfelt breakfast at the hotel in Kandy and later visit to the tea plantation and the tea factory to see the processes of manufacturing tea and how the best tea leaves are produced. See all the process how tea is graded, produced and packed. Also enjoy stimulating hot tea made from the world best Ceylon tea in the factory. Later we transfer to Nuwara Eliya the picturesque hill resort in Sri Lanka. Located at an altitude of 1980 metres, Nuwara Eliya is the heart of tea country and produces the best tea leaves in the world. Day 04: Nuwara Eliya - Tissamaharama - Yala - Kataragama (120 Kms/3 Hrs)

Day 06: Bentota - Colombo (64 Kms/2 Hrs)
After a heartfelt breakfast the hotel in Bentota/Ahungalla, we transfer you to Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. Enjoy the city tour of Colombo and visit to some of the oldest building in the city and the modern skyscrapers changing the look of Colombo.
