Lamma Island
Lamma Island (Chinese: 南丫島) is the third largest island in Hong Kong.
Lamma is, in contrast to Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, peaceful and tranquil, with relatively natural scenery. Only village houses no more than three storeys tall may be built here, and there are no motor vehicles allowed, other than some emergency vehicles and the village vehicles that are used to move goods around. The locals get around on bicycles or on foot.
The island is popular with expatriates, and also many artists and musicians live on the island. It has ferry services between Hong Kong and Yung Shue Wan and Sok Kwu Wan, and there are kaito services available from Aberdeen.
