About this place
Hong Kong Space Museum
Hong Kong Space Museum was commissioned in 1980. It is not only Hong Kong’s first planetarium, but also one of the most technologically advanced planetariums in Asia. The planetarium’s dome is very impressive, and its unique design makes it one of Hong Kong’ most recognizable landmarks.
Space Theater
The Space Theater offers Sky Shows and Omnimax Shows. Movies featuring a variety of scientific topics are shown throughout the day, ranging from the human body to geography to the galaxy. The circular arrangement of seats are tilted back a bit to ensure the optimal view of the panoramic screen. Audience members comfortably enjoy the show as if they are looking skyward. Different languages are available for the viewers’ convenience. Children under 3 are not admitted.
Exhibition Halls
The Hall of Space Science and the Hall of Astronomy offers visitors the opportunity to participate in an interactive, entertaining and educational learning experience. At the Hall of Solar Science, use the solar telescope to take a closer look at the sun. To experience the feeling of weightlessness and give the ’fly wires’ a try.
