The Guangdong Spa That Puts Noodles in the Jacuzzi Relax and rejuvenate in ramen
About this place
Ever wanted to bathe in a cup of ramen? You're in luck, this special spa in Fogang, Guangdong, collapses the gap between Japanese porn fantasia and real life by allowing visitors to "marinate" in a hot spring brimming with noodles.
According to news.163.com, workers use chopsticks to stoke the the giant noodle bowl with multicolored noodles as well as celery, carrots, yams and even dragon fruit. Noodles also dangle from the rafters like starchy stalactites (below). Because who wouldn't want to try noodles that've been simmering in a human cesspool?
Fortunately, the "noodles" they throw in the pool are actually strands of herbal jelly used to benefit the skin, and are not meant to be eaten. The noodles the bathers are shown eating were given to them separately. Though judging by past food scandals, we wouldn't be surprised if the former were true.
Although if you genuinely want to be a human soup, there is a spa in Japan, the Yunessan Spa House in Hakone, that offers spa treatments in pork-based broth. For vegetarians, you can also bathe in green tea or sake. Ichiro Furuya, the spa's owner, says “Lately people are very concerned about having beautiful skin, and they know the effect of collagen, which is contained in our pork-based broth. At this bath, everybody can have fun and take advantage of the healthy elements of ramen noodles.”
