Public bus leaves at the north station in dali new town every 1 hour or so to Jianchuan and  it is the head town of Shaxi ,from Dali to jianchuan is aboout 3 hours ,the ticket cost about 35 yuan per person ,bus runs from am to 5 pm, when you get to the Jianchuan bus station ,walk out to the very front gate of the ticket office , you will see lots of blue van waiting to take people to Shaxi , its about 45 mints drive from here , ticket cost 10 yuan per person , the van pick 8 people then go ,the van start from 8 am to 6 pm . the diver will drop you off at the main street of Shaxi ,walk striaght for 5 mints and turn left , walk on about 5 mints then you are in the middle of the tiny old town .

There is no need to book your ticket in advance ,buy it as you go .
