Chairmao Mao, in his late year, opened the door for restoring the normal diplmacy with the United States, and in February, 1972, met with the visiting U.S. President Richard Nixon in Beijing.

From then on until June 17th, 1976, chairman Mao has successively met with heads of foreign countries, among them were: Japanese prime minister Tanaka Kakuei, French president Pompidou, secretary of States of the United States Dr. Kinssinger, former British prime minister Hiss, president Strauss of Christian Social League of West Germany, to vice-president of Egypt Mubarak, and prime minister Bhutto of Pakistan, as well as some world famous Chinese-American scientists Yang Chen-Ning and Lee Tsung-Dao.
