About this place
Xiushui Jie Market (Silk Street Market, 秀水街商场) is 5 stories and 1500 stalls of pure tourist-targeted copycat goods. It is the replacement for the original Silk Alley Market which was located nearby. There are too many fake brand name items here to even begin to list them. Copied shoes, clothes, bags, and jackets can all be found here. Do not expect them to last nearly as long as the real versions would last.
The shopkeepers here are skilled at soaking every last dime possible out of their foreign guests. They quote opening prices that are anywhere from 2 to 20 times the price that they would actually accept. They shout and grab, pretend to be angry, and sometimes actually do get angry. They will always look for an opportunity to tell you why it is that they will give you - and only you - a special price. Some of them speak English or other languages and they should all speak Chinese even if it is of the Beijing “er hua (儿话)” variety.

How to Get There
Take subway line 1 to Yonganli (永安里) subway station. There are also many bus routes that stop at the Yonganli stop including buses 28, 43, 120, 126 and 403.
