Taxis around Wuxi are plentiful and reliable, and are an excellent way to move around the city quickly. You will rarely have to wait for more than a minute to hail a taxi. In fact, if you stand by the road looking lost cab drivers will often honk gently as they pass slowly by to see if you want a ride.

 

The fare starts at 8 yuan. For most destinations within the city center, 8 yuan will be sufficient. Going somewhere in the outer city limits is likely to cost around 20 – 30 yuan.

 

Hotels and businesses almost always have business cards and taxi cards available to guide your driver to where you wish to go.
