Wuxi is a modern industrial city where almost anything is possible in terms of purchasing. On the rare occasion that you can't find what you are looking for, Shanghai is only an hour and a half away to visit or to send off for whatever it is you may need.

Wuxi has modern department stores, large supermarkets, and tourist markets such as the Nanchang temple area. Besides these options there are myriad classic Chinese shops and stalls where you can bargain your heart out and shop til you drop.
