Shenyang's Long Distance Bus Stations ( 沈阳的长途客车站 )

Manager Review

Author:Ethan (Last Modified: 2007-03-27 14:58:42.0)

Shenyang is well serviced by long distance buses, but the bus system is much less organized than the trains, so it can be difficult to find accurate schedules and information.   The good news is that for most major destinations, buses leave regularly throughout the day and are seldom sold out. Unless you’re traveling during the New Year’s holiday, seats should be available.

Shenyang has one main long distance bus station, as well as several smaller ones. Buy tickets inside the station, or from any of the seemingly random people selling tickets. Buying tickets from the people outside may seem a bit dodgy if you’ve never done it before, but they can actually be quite helpful, as the schedule inside the station may not be convenient for you. The buses outside the station are generally just as legit as the ones inside, so don’t worry about it.

North Station Long Distance Bus Station 北站长途汽车客运站 (běizhàn chángtú qìchē kèyùn zhàn)  This is the most useful station for long-distance travel.

Location: This station is on Huigong jie (惠工街) just east of Huigong Square (惠工广场, huì gōng guǎng chǎng) and just south of the North Train Station. Any of the following bus routes stop at the station: 247, 115, 291, 295, 4357, 265, 250, 228, 292, 269, 328, 228, 229, 611.  Taxi drivers will know it as " běi zhàn qì chē zhàn."

This station has buses leaving regularly for most major destinations in the northeast, including Beijing, Changchun/Jilin, Harbin, Dalian, Dandong, and Huludao. For those planning to go to less frequented locations, I recommend inquiring in advance about bus schedules.

South Station Long Distance Bus Station 南站长途汽车客运站 (nánzhàn chángtú qìchē kèyùn zhàn)

Location: This station is on Shengli Jie (胜利街), directly across the street from Shenyang Train Station (south station).

This station has buses leaving regularly for most major locations. If you can speak and/or read Chinese, you can buy tickets from one of the dozens of people holding signs outside the station. Otherwise, buy tickets at the ticket window inside. Those headed to Benxi (本溪) or Fushun (抚顺) can find buses parked nearby on Min Zhu Lu (民主路). Tickets cost only 7-10 yuan.

WuAi Bus Station 五爱车站 (wǔ ài chēzhàn)
Location: At the WuAi Market .
Buses leave from here to cities all around Liaoning Province, including Benxi, Anshan, Dalian, and more.
