Fuling Tomb (福陵) is located inside Dongling Park (东陵公园), and along with Zhaoling and Yongling is one of Shenyang’s three famous tombs. The tomb is similar to Zhaoling Tomb in Beiling Park, but smaller. It was built in 1651 by the early Qing Dynasty emperor Shunzhi (顺治) as a resting place for his grandfather Nurhachi and his mistress. Subsequent emperors Qianlong (乾隆) and Kangxi (康熙) also added buildings and adornments to the shrine, and made periodic visits here to honor their ancestors.

The park is located in a forested area overlooking the Hun River (浑河), and is a pleasant place to take a half-day away from the city. To make the most of your time, consider visiting nearby Ocean World or Botanical Gardens in the same day.

Cost: Entry to the tomb is 30 yuan.

Location: 8 km east of Shenyang, the park is approximately 45 minutes from the city center by bus. A taxi will probably cost around 60 yuan. Take the 168 (formerly 330) bus from Ma Lu Wan or Da Shuai Fu, or take the 218 bus from the Imperial Palace
