Note - Thanks for the many submissions. Unfortunately, for reasons beyond our control, this project was cancelled.
Time’s limited and we have lots of planning to do. So, let’s get started! The deadline for submissions is July 23, 2007.
If you’re a foreigner, we want to know about the Chinese city you live in from your point of view. Just send us an email and tell us your ideas for a 40-something minute show about your city (For each city 40 minutes of footage will be filmed and the final cut will be 20-something minutes). To think up ideas, try answering some of these questions:
- What are some of the spots in the city that are special to you?
- Have any interesting stories from your time there?
- What is in your city that gets overlooked by tourists too often?
- What are some of the best tourist attractions, restaurants, bars, etc.?
- What makes this city worth living in?
- What is it that makes this city almost too hard to live in?
- Who are the important people in your life in this city?
- What’s different about the lives of foreigners and lives of Chinese people in your city?
- What local culture have you absorbed?
If you are chosen, Phoenix TV will send a film crew to your city and spend a half-day or day with you touring the city. A week or two later every foreigner on the team will be sent to Beijing to film the talk-show section of the show.
Just send an email to Wang, Xiaoqing with some ideas from the above list as well as your personal information (name, phone number, etc) and a short paragraph about yourself. We’ll take it from there. Send as many good ideas as you can. Phoenix TV will choose which topics they want to use.
