About me:

Welcome to Harbin 2013! Harbin offers delicious local food, wonderful nightlife, Jewish and Russian history and beautiful ice sculptures. It snows sometimes and a bit cold with the average temp about minus 15 in winter. The people here are nice and helpful.

My name is Peter, I am an English-speaking guide, historian and interpreter from Harbin, China. I love traveling and meeting with People. I graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology specializing in Business English. In the past 10 years,I have made lots of friends coming from all over the world, and we are still keeping in touch now. They are very thankful about my help and service on their trip to Harbin. I was born in Harbin and live in Harbin all my life, so I am quite familiar with the city of Harbin, including all the scenic spots in Harbin, such as the Ice Snow World, Sun Island Snow Sculpture Park, Zhaolin Ice Carving Park, Siberian Tiger Park, Winter Swimming, Polar Aquarium, Dragon Tower, and Sofia Church, Synagogue as well as the Central St., etc. Besides I know the shortcuts to those attractions. Meanwhile I can help you rent a van for your trip at cheap price, like the airport transfer, train station transfer, and city tour. I am the licensed guide with 10 years experiences, I have the speical guide pass, it is free for me to go into all the attractions in Harbin, you need not buy me any tickets. All in all, I can save you lots of time, trouble and money here in Harbin. I know how to present Harbin very well. Besides, I am the non smoker with good manner.

I can offer you more services, such as car rental, airport picking up and dropping off, hotel booking, oral interpretation, sightseeing commentary, etc. Most Harbin People do not speak English, and most street signs here are only in Chinese, not in English. But please do not worry, since I am good at oral English and written English, I can help you a lot with your language barrier and culture shock here.

I would like to meet you in Harbin and show you around. Any help in Harbin, please feel free to let me know.

Just recently returned from a trip through Asia which included a few days in Harbin to see the ice and snow.

We contacted Peter not long before we left on our big trip and he replied promptly letting us know vital information such as what we could expect to pay for a taxi from the airport etc and letting us know when he was available. I can honestly say that Peter is the hardest working guide I've met and his knowledge of the city, it's history, attractions, and it's public transport in particular is extremely good.

Peter took us to see the major sights, many of which we would have missed had we been operating under our own steam, and he helped out in ways only a local could. He was friendly, punctual, helpful, considerate, and his english is very good.

If you're going to Harbin I can strongly recommend you contact Peter first. Should we manage to head that way again I certainly will.

Darren.

Sub:Hello from Danny and Surina, Singapore

Hello Big Brother Peter,

How are you ? I hope that you and your beloved family are doing well and healthy in Harbin. How is the winter in Harbin now? I’m sure you are still enjoying it. The wind here is chilly in the morning and night and it is the rainy season now in Singapore. Its cool but we still miss the harsh Harbin winter.

First and foremost, we would like to express out deep thanks to you for showing us around in Harbin and giving us so many countless pointers regarding places of visits in Harbin. We loved each and every minute of the tour not to mention seeing the everyday life of the locals. Also, we also would like to express our thanks to you for bringing us to the Muslim restaurant and having meal with us on our last day with you in that simple, modest and yet fantastic restaurant. You have leave a deep impression on us and I kept telling my experiences I had with you to my working colleagues.

Most importantly, we would like to thank you for watching over our safety when crossing the icy roads and for bringing us to the Unit 731 museum. We really had a good laugh, a very nice time and learn a lot about Harbin during the two days spent with you. If only we could have stayed longer, we could even learn a lot more things about Harbin from you. We are considering very strongly to visit Harbin again during summer and hopefully we can meet and laugh together again like we did before. We regretted one thing not to listen to your advice which is… TO BUY POSTCARDS IN ST SOPHIA CHURCH.. We just wished we had bought them!! And now, we have regretted it so much...!!!!!

I hope we can keep in touch and update one another about Harbin and Singapore. If you ever want to visit Singapore, do not hesitate to call us. We will try our very best to be a good host to you and look after you. Also, we would very much appreciate if you happen to be bringing any Singaporean tourists to St Sophia Church, please ask them to help us buy the postcards (the postcards with the picture of old Harbin City and the Muslim mosques) which is been sold in the church itself. We will pay them back once they returned to Singapore. If it is too much of a problem and inconveniences for you, then it is ok. Don't want to trouble you too. Do keep in touch and write often!!

Warm regards,

Danny and Surina

Hey Peter, how are you doing?  We really appreciated your tour of all the interesting sites around Harbin.  Your organization and knowledge was very helpful in making us aware of all the history and grandeur of China.

Hope it gets warmer in Harbin. When we got home to Auckland, it was cool and rainy, but now it is getting hot again - supposed to be over 25 degrees tomorrow.

I am sending you our group photo.

This is something I am doing with love and enthusiasm for a great Chinese friend.

Thanks again for showing us around Harbin.

Cheers,

Michael
