Ningbo, like every Chinese city, is crowded with restaurants. However, foreign tourists always face the problem of finding restaurants where they can easily read the menu or speak to the staff. Having a Chinese friend is always helpful. For the sake of tourists this restaurant section will concentrate on those restaurants that have English speaking staff, English menus, or who have pictures or displays of food you can select by pointing.

Yong Cuisine
There are eight major schools of Chinese food and Zhejiang cuisine is one of these eight styles. It is a combination of the food styles of Hangzhou, Ningbo and Wenzhou. Ningbo’s specialty is seafood. Since a lot of Ningbo residents moved to Shanghai in the past, there are many similarities between Ningbo dishes and snacks and those of Shanghai.
Yong cuisine is a combination of cooking methods, fresh foods and the use of other ingredients to create a full, flavorsome cuisine.
