Make sure the meter of the taxi is switched on before taxi drives away.
Most taxi drivers do not speak English. Please ask the tour guides or hotel doorman or concierge to translate the destination to the driver. Or make sure having the destination written in Chinese on the cards or bring the hotel cards when want to return. 
Please bring a map of destination area. If a problem occurs or the driver head the wrong way, travelers can simply point the destination out to the driver.
Always ask for a taxi receipt. With the receipt travelers can locate the driver if something get lost in the taxis or can complain to taxi companies if travelers are not satisfied with the services.
