Dali
If you do not have a great deal of time to spend in Yunnan, do not miss Dali. This gorgeous little town could make or break your trip.
Lijiang
A few hours north of Dali, Lijiang’s Old Town is also one of the most beautifully preserved historic sites in China, and has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. If you have the time, do not forgo a trip to this northwestern section of Yunnan.
Tiger Leaping Gorge
Also, Tiger Leaping Gorge, near Lijiang displays some of the most awe-inspiring scenery in China outside of Tibet. Do not miss this gem - it will not be around for much longer as Yunnan is rapidly expanding it’s hydro-electric dam projects for China’s ever-increasing demand for energy.
