Like its cross-harbour counterpart – the Quarterdeck Club in Wan Chai – this place carries on in the same vein, serving up mass amounts of fresh seafood with a similarly compatible nautical-theme. Opened early this year, this place is a seafarer’s dream. The bar is like the hull of a ship (complete with matching Moby Dick paddles). There are pothole ‘Titanic’-style marine windows and the floorboards are like that only seen on a yacht (shiny and polished beyond belief). However this place is not exactly a carbon copy of the Wan Chai outlet because there is no open-air al-fresco dining. Instead this time, the view of Victoria Harbour can only be enjoyed behind glass. Nevertheless this is not necessarily a bad thing, because the massive panoramic windows span one whole side of the restaurant and now you can enjoy the harbour-view in the comfort of air-con.

There is a vegetarian and children’s menu available but the focus is, of course, on the seafood. Think grilled salmon steaks, seared tuna and more fresh oysters than you could shake a stick at (just in case you were into that kind of thing). Overall this is a sailorly experience with the harbour-view providing the raison d’etre.
