About Me

What you are reading is about an emotional creature, Qingyan.

I like laughing, travelling, reading, singing, running and more. I love to experience different cultures and listen to others' stories. A pair of my favorite colorful socks can start my day with happiness.

After graduating from a teaching university with English Major, I am now a teacher in a private school. Travelling is my all time passion. When I was a kid, I liked to travel around to different places with my parents. In college, I took part time jobs to support myself to travel to Fenghuang Ancient Town, Zhijiang, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Wuhan.
Synotrip helps me to travel, get paid and meet people from different cultures.

My first client was Cal Conklin, a hydrologist from America. We travelled together for 40days. I helped him to find a poor school to do volunteer teaching at Huaxi in Guiyang. When we were volunteering in Guizhou Province, we travelled to Tian He Tan, Huang Guo Shu waterfall, and Hong Feng Lake. The most memorable experience was at one of our students' hometown, a Miao village. We were lucky to join a local party that dressed us in Miao tradition and visited their ancient grave cave.

After Guizhou, I took Cal to my uncle's small rice growing village in Hunan Province. Four days later, we travelled to see friends at Chengdu in Sichuan province. We visited E'Mei Mountain, the Panda Research Center and Famous Irrigation Weir. We spent a week exploring Beijing. On the way south to my home after putting Cal on the plane back to America, I made a stop at Xi'an, Shanxi Province by myself. A best part of my Xi'an trip was the self-taught calligrapher Mr Li Shao Zhou. You can have a better idea about his amazing story in my article Street Janitor? Calligrapher!
In September, my trip continued to America. I was invited by Mr. and Mrs. Conklin to California and stayed there with them for 4 months. Mrs. Conklin helped me get invited to six schools as their guest speaker to introduce our Chinese culture. I observed different classes, participated in the 4H activities, and travelled to six states at the west part of the U.S.

My next client was Tosun Bengisu from Turkey. I accompanied him to four provinces for 14 days. Four days in Beijing, three days in Xi'an, one day in Changsha, two days in Zhuzhou and four days in Shanghai. We visited some important tourist sites like the Forbidden City, Great Wall, The Temple of Heaven, Terra Cotta Warrior, Great Mosque, and Shanghai(the Bund area, and Zhouzhuang). I Grouponed some tickets to a symphony orchestra, a Peking Opra, Dance Performance at Tang Theme Park, Singing Opra at Shanghai before he came to China to save him money. These were great night activities. I invited him to the school I was teaching at and took him to my college. He liked talking to the students and observe our classes very much. He saved those pictures that were taken at those classrooms and show them to others whenever he talks about China. When we were in Xi'an, I introduced him to the calligrapher, Mr. Li Shao Zhou. That was a great day of our trip.

<p>Qingyan was our guide for a trip to Zhangjiajie National Forest over 3 days in November 2015. She did an excellent job of both helping plan the trip to suit our needs, organising where to be at particular times, and of finding interesting little things along the way that we would never have found ourselves....read more

I had the great pleasure and privilege of having her as my guide for about two weeks for an itinerary including Beijing, Xian, Changsha, Zhuzhou and Shanghai. She is a very special person and I thoroughly enjoyed being with her....read more
