Although there is a large and growing number of airports in China, most international flights to China will land in either Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangzhou or Beijing.
Buying Flight Tickets
If you want to get the best price then you should prepare to do some searching. Try searching a few different internet sites such as major booking engines as well as some of the airline websites. Also try looking up some local companies and see if they have any deals. It helps to phone some places and talk to somebody directly.
Most web sites or local companies that book flights will allow you to see prices for several days. If not, make sure you check at least a week ahead and behind your optimal travel date as prices may vary from one day to the next. Try to buy your plane tickets ahead of time. The price will usually go up as you get closer to your travel date.
Inquire about the ability to cancel or switch flight dates. Currently, Air China does not charge anything if you switch the date of your return flight but you should do so early in order to make sure there is room on your return flight. Also, keep in mind that there is a maximum stay for each return ticket.
