Due to its position as a link to Beijing, Juyongguan Pass was one of the most strategically important parts of the Great Wall of China.  Originally constructed during the fifth century, it was later rebuilt during the Ming dynasty.  Juyongguan was neglected during the Qing Dynasty, but has since been renovated and opened to the public.

It is a good place for family with kids to go. With kids ice ski place and lovely animals, with perfermance too. The kids love the place. We went there yesterday, and enjoy a nice walk outside. Inside the area is not big, but people are so friendly. We watched the perfermance of the birds, and took care of the lovely animals, and bought a small toy guitar for friend's two year old son.
