Rick Shatz heads the Synotrip Chengdu branch. His background includes George Washington University and archaeology, but that’s only part of the story. A third (and now fourth) stint in China brings Rick back as a writer and editor for Synotrip. Having taught English and studied Mandarin on his first two adventures in northern China, Rick sought a new challenge and found exactly what he was looking for at Synotrip. Travelling and studying on four continents, while picking up a language or two...or three, Rick feels fortunate to have gained such varying international perspectives. He has a nose for adventure and enjoys getting off various modes of transportation in a strange place with a map in a language he has yet to learn. Rick is very competitive, adores all things Philadelphia, and always encourages people to speak their mind.
Rick has quickly fallen in love with Chengdu. He welcomes you to his new home, and encourages any potential visitors or locals to email him with any questions, concerns, or comments.
