Wuhan Tianhe International Airport (武汉天河国际机场) is one of the biggest airports in central China. It is located 26 km northwest of Wuhan city. Transportation to and from the airport to the city is very convenient provided you know what destination you are headed for. There is a bus terminal at the airport which is very affordable for budget travelers. From the bus terminal you can reach any corner of the city. Tickets can be purchased in the arrivals hall for 15 RMB per person. In front of the arrival hall of the airport there is also a taxi stand. You will receive a service card with the number plate of your taxi on it. In case you are not satisfied with the service of the taxi, call the service number on the card. Do not take taxis offered to you in the arrival hall of the airport as they intend to charge a higher fare. Only take the taxis which are waiting at the taxi stand. Do not bargain the price with the driver, tell the taxi driver to use the meter. Another more expensive means of transportation is to rent a car.
There are daily flights linking Wuhan with numerous destinations both in China and abroad (including Asia and Europe).
