Steamed Wuchang Fish is a typical dish in Wuhan. This freshwater fish, when steamed together with mushrooms, bamboo shoots and chicken soup, maintains both the original fresh taste of the fish and the nutrients.  Actually, nowadays the so-called "Wuchang Fish" is not taken from Wuchang Lake, but is actually fished from the waters in another county in Wuhan’s suburbs.
