30-40 Yuan/bed, 200-240 Yuan/room The Traffic Hotel is actually a youth hostel, but it is listed under hotels to avoid confusion. While the Traffic Hotel’s staff and atmosphere isn’t as friendly and personable as other hostels in Chengdu, it does have an unbeatable location. It is adjacent to the Xinnanmen bus station, which is where you can catch buses to basically anywhere in Sichuan.

No. 130 Shanxie Jie The staff at Sam’s would prefer to play on the computer and ignore you, so be persistent. They can however book plane, train, and bus tickets as well as package tours, so try to be patient. The singles (10$/person) and doubles (7$/person) are worn out , but the Western style bathrooms are a nice perk. The dorms are worth the value and clean...enough.

http://www.mixhostel.com Since opening its doors in March 2005, Mix Hostel has wasted little time in becoming the busiest and most popular youth hostel in Chengdu. The hostel contains 105 beds in 35 rooms. Rooms with air conditioning incur an extra fee of Y10 per night. There are no private bathrooms in any of the singles, doubles, or dorms at Mix which is part of what keeps the price so low.

Fang Chao Yang, the Yi minority owner of the hostel, is extremely proud of the clean rooms and bathrooms as well as his honest staff at the hostel.
